Rose hydrosol is a by-product of rose essential oil. The water that turns to steam and carries the essential oil out of the flower petals, is separated from the oil and used as a water based rose product.
It is wonderful for use in cosmetics, skin cremes, and as a skin toner spray. Ancient Greeks used it to scent the bath; Egyptians used it internally as a medicine for sore throats and infections. It has been tested effective against staph and strept infections, and could be effective against many others.
It makes a great skin treatment for acne, wrinkles, and dry skin. It balances the production of sebum, helping to resolve oily or dry skin conditions.
It has been used for healing wounds, dermatitis, psoriasis, enlarged pores, and other skin conditions. It can be used alone, or as a carrier for essential oils.
Rose hydrosol also makes a wonderful base for any room spray. It is a regenerating addition for masks, skin cremes, lotions, body gel, shampoo, and hair rinse.
