Hyaluronic Acid–Nature’s Fountain of Youth Ingredient

$49.00

Hyaluronic Acid in its pure, powdered form, is highly concentrated.  It is wonderful as a hydrator in serums, and also makes a wonderful additive to shampoos and conditioners for the hair.

It should be dissolved in the liquid phase of formulas, and should not be used in concentrations higher than 4% of the formula total.  2 teaspoons per cup of distilled water is a great starting place for making your own facial serum.  To dissolve this properly, you will need a stick blender, which works better than any other form of mixing for this particular product.

Beside being a wonderful ingredient for skin care products, HA is often taken internally to help osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease.  It is believed to increase collagen levels within joints, and relieve pain and weakness.  Internal doses range between 80 to 200 mg daily.

Researchers have found that it can be applied to wounds, to speed healing and reduce pain.  It regulates inflammation levels and signals the body to build more blood vessels when applied to damaged areas.  It has been particularly effective in reducing scars and treating burns.

HA should not be used in high concentrations.  Keep it away from children, and store in a cool dark place for best shelf life.

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural  component of our skin and is present in skin,  joints, eyes,  and connective tissue throughout the human body.  It protects cell structure by acting as a “water cushion” between the skin cells.  As our skin ages and we are exposed to external environmental factors, our natural levels of HA are reduced.

Evidence suggests that topical applications of HA are absorbed through the skin.   It “feeds” our existing cells, and may contribute to the formation of collagen.  Formulators use this component in serums and cremes designed to hydrate the skin.  It is also used in topical creams designed to minimize scar tissue and reduce signs of aging.

With continued use of skin care products that contain HA, moisture levels are raised reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is highly effective in products designed to target facial and neck areas.
