Observations and Anecdotal Information
In my decades of herbal healing practice, I have helped many regain thyroid function and balance. It is a challenging situation, as we are all different, and not everyone responds to herbal supplementation. However, I have seen plenty of successes in this area.
Regeneration does require focus and consistency to get long term beneficial results. If you are currently taking medication for thyroid, it is important to have guidance from a health care professional as you go through the healing process. Medications must be very gradually weaned from your system while you are taking the supplement, as thyroid function gradually returns.
Support for Thyroid Regeneration:
- Avoid or limit raw brassicas (broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, etc.)
- Many people find support from adding seaweed, kelp, nori snacks, or other ocean vegetables to increase natural iodine in their systems. Another option is Nascent Iodine supplement.
- Every organ in the body has a better chance of recovery if you give it the enhanced nutrition and live enzymes available in fresh vegetable and fruit juices; and smoothies. Check out our smoothie recipes for inspiration.
