About 4 Directions Herbal Tea Ingredients

Rose root:  Rose root is one of the most powerful adaptogenic herbs.  Adaptogenic herbs increase the body’s overall resistance, increase energy levels, and normalize body functions.  It is a powerful regenerator, used medicinally by many cultures.  It strengthens the nervous system.  It  dispels depression and anxiety.

Rose root helps with weight loss.  It enhances memory, and increases energy and physical endurance.  It eliminates fatigue and enhances athletic performance.  It is known to relieve altitude sickness.

Rose root is considered a longevity herb.   Its classification as a tonic herb means that it is best taken daily over  a long term.  This allows its benefits to create change in the body over time.  Rose root is the perfect ingredient for  our 4 Directions herbal tea!

Ashwaganda:  Ashwaganda is also known as “Indian ginseng”.  Though not biologically related to ginseng, it’s strengthening powers of regeneration are similar to those of ginseng.  It is another powerful adaptogenic herb.

It  is used to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.  It increases brain function and enhances memory.  Students often take it to keep the mind clear and sharp when studying.

Ashwaganda stabilizes blood sugar.   It has anti-inflammatory properties.  It is a superior herb for boosting the immune system and strengthening the body’s defenses.  It increases endurance and simulates vitality.  You can now see why we included this herb in the tea.

Reishi mushroom:  Also known as ganoderma, reishi is one of the world’s best herbs for  transforming the effects of aging.    It is used for boosting the immune system.  It is effective against viral infections such as influenza, swine flu, and avian flu.

It has also been used to help lung conditions including asthma and bronchitis.   It is used to treat heart disease, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.  It has been used for kidney degeneration, cancer, and liver disease.

Perhaps its greatest property is the ability to reduce aging.  Studies have indicated its many benefits, including protecting the DNA from oxidant damage that causes aging.

It also protects kidney tubule cells from oxidant damage leading to kidney failure.  And more studies indicate that it increases the expression of a key longevity gene which promotes an increased life span in species ranging from yeasts, to primitive worms, to mammals such as mice (no studies on this for humans yet!).

Siberian ginseng:  Siberian ginseng is known to prevent colds and flu.  It increases energy, longevity, and vitality. It is widely used in Russia as an adaptogenic herb.   It enhances mental clarity and increases the ability to handle stress.  It has great regenerative powers for the adrenal glands.  It also enhances metabolism.   It normalizes endocrine and glandular function.

It is often used by athletes.  It is known for helping the body to endure long periods of stress and speeding recovery time.  It enhances physical vitality and benefits the immune system.  It is helpful for fatigue, fibromyalgia, and many other degenerative conditions.

It prevents inflammation.  It relieves insomnia.  It detoxifies the liver, and increases circulation and oxygen levels in the blood.  It strengthens the respiratory system, and enhances low testosterone levels in men.  It is known to relieve the effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments on the liver.

Siberian ginseng is one of the top adaptogenic herbs for aging.  It is best taken over a long period of time to realize its full benefits.  Its great regenerative powers give 4 Directions herbal tea the ability to help the body, mind, and spirit rejuvenate and recover.
