More About Our Zdravets Essential Oil

Production method:  Steam distillation from wild flowers

Botanical name:  Geranium macorrhiza

Note:  Zdravets essential oil is very rare, as the essential oil yield from these plants is extremely low.  Distillation produces paraffin crystals in the oil that carry a strong fixative effect, highly sought after for natural perfumery and essential oil blending.  To pour this oil, soak the bottle in hot (not boiling) water for several minutes until the crystals return to a liquid state.

Observations and Anecdotal Information

Also known as true geranium, zdravets essential oil is a wonderful skin rejuvenator.   It relieves itching and can clear pigmented spots and blemishes on the face.

It can  help diminish the appearance of wrinkles and refresh the eye area. It is great when added to rooibos creme base, and other skin preparations.

The word Zdrave means “health”, and this oil does carry many benefits to improve health.  In addition to the properties listed above, it is also said to relieve headaches and lower blood pressure through inhalation; and to increase capillary strength.
