Elemi essential oil has many great health benefits.  It is useful for skin conditions, and can be applied to open wounds to disinfect and promote healing.  It is protective against infection, including microbes, funguses, bacteria, and viruses.  It has been used to protect against tetanus and septic wound infection.

It is effective for pain, including headaches, migraines, and ear infection pain.  It clears congestion and makes breathing easier.  It loosens phlegm in bronchi, lungs, nasal passages, and trachea; and helps the body to expel it.

It is a stimulant for circulation and lymphatic fluid.  It also stimulates the secretion of hormones, especially estrogen and progesterone.  It stimulates the production of enzymes, bile, and digestive juices.  It stimulates certain neurons in the brain, peristalsis, and heartbeat and respiration.

Elemi essential oil is also a tonic.  Tonic herbs work to improve function and tone the body, by strengthening all the organs and systems.  It also boosts the immune system.

It relieves pain, including joint pain, nerve pain, and pain associated with infections.
