Hops CO2 Extract

Hops CO2 extract is a powerful aroma with sedative properties.  It is a rich, unusual aroma that can be overpowering for sensitive people.  The solution is to blend it sparingly with other oils.

Energetically, hops supports us in evaluating and processing our fears.  Rather than reacting to our fears, we can slow down and take the time to identify them, and we can find out if they are real, or if they are imaginary–based on a possible future outcome, or something seen in the media.   Hops CO3 extract helps us slow down and process our fears calmly.

Observations and Anecdotal Information

Hops CO2 extract is best known for its sedative properties.  It is a traditional treatment for nightmares, insomnia, nervous tension and anxiety.  It relaxes and induces sleep, perhaps better than any other herbal remedy.

Hops has been used in various bitters recipes.  It improves digestion and relieves dyspepsia, stomach ache, gas, and bloating.

The flowers (called cones) are brewed into bitters, and have been used as a flavoring and medicinal additive in beers and ales for several hundred years.

So many complex constituents have been found in hops, that it is now being studied around the world, as a possible treatment for tuberculosis, epileptic seizures, cancer, blood sugar imbalances, and obesity.

In Switzerland, a noncontrolled study with hops was done on 100 postmenopausal women for 30 days.  The results showed a strong effect on vaginal dryness, itching, and burning.

Hops may also increase the absorption of B vitamins, and carries a substantial dose of B vitamins on its own.  For this purpose, it can be taken internally in diluted form.  Its bitter flavor requires a natural  sweetener to be added, such as honey or maple syrup.
