Observations and Anecdotal Information

Black pepper essential oil is one of the greatest massage oils from the plant kingdom.   It stimulates circulation, soothing muscle pain, arthritis,  and neuralgia.  It even relieves the pain of certain injuries, such as sprains, bruises, and contusions, as long as the skin is not broken.

It stimulates the heart and increases muscle tone.  It also stimulates the digestive system, liver, and pancreas.

Black pepper is a great choice for enhancing weight loss and reversing cellulite condition.   It  stimulates the cleansing of toxic accumulation from body tissues.  It also increases urine production, and helps genito-urinary system infections.

Personally, I find black pepper to be a major catalyzer,  enhancing the synergy of blends and increasing the potency of other oils.  It carries both stimulating and sedative effects, depending on what is needed by the body.

Cautions

• Avoid during pregnancy and lactation.
• Black pepper essential oil can irritate mucus membranes when diffused, for sensitive individuals.  Blend it with other oils to reduce this effect.
