Distillation:  Steam distilled from wild, aerial parts

Botanical name:  Origanum compactum

Oregano is one of the strongest anti-bacterial substances from the plant world.  It has been used to treat plague during the Middle Ages; and is powerful against influenza, colds, staph and strep infections, fungal and viral infections.

It is effective as a bone and nerve enhancer, helping to regenerate these tissues, and to relieve pain in them.   It is a very potent digestive tonic, good for digestive system infections, parasitic infections, acidic stomach, mouth ulcers, and constipation.  It has even shown effective against digestive system staph infections, and many parasitic microbes.

It is a very good oil when combined with birch and helichrysum, for regenerating nerve tissue.  I have even seen people regenerate nerves that were considered permanently damaged by western medicine.  For this purpose, it must be applied at least twice weekly on the spine as a spinal compress, and applied again directly over the area where nerve damage has occurred.

It is a powerful choice for spinal compresses and treatments, as it supports healing, pain relief, and nerve regeneration.
