Distillation:  Steam distilled from wild aerial parts, by an artisan distiller

Botanical name:  Myrtus communis

This oil is the cineole chemotype, sometimes referred to as Red Myrtle.  It is a calming and sedative oil, dissolving the feelings of anger, anxiety, stress, despair, worry, and tension.

When inhaled, it helps people reclaim emotional balance and mental composure.  It is especially helpful for those with eating disorders and hypochondriac tendencies; it eases the fear of illness.

Myrtle has long been used as a hormone balancer; it is helpful for all pelvic disorders, menstrual imbalances, uterine and prostate issues.  It can be used effectively for treating bladder infections, and can be diluted and taken internally for that purpose.  It is also an effective respiratory tonic, easing breathing and opening the breathing passages, for bronchitis, sinus and respiratory infections, and smoker’s cough.
