Distillation:  Steam distilled wild aerial parts, by artisan distillers

Botanical name:  Helichrysum italicum

Known also as Immortelle,  this is one of the most tissue regenerating oils around.  It is almost miraculous in the way it can regenerate skin cells, scars, and treats wounds–disinfecting and stopping bleeding when applied neat to a wound or burn.

It also helps spleen function, and may restore balance and health to this organ when depleted.  It is one of the rare essential oils that can cleanse the liver and other cellular tissues of heavy metal accumulation, and is very appropriate for that purpose.

It has also been shown to be effective for healing herpes outbreaks, and can be applied directly to sores.  It is one of the few oils that does not require dilution.

One of the gentlest essential oils available–it can be used for children, elderly, and sensitive people.  Most people find the aroma pleasant.  Though it is a costly oil, as it is time consuming to harvest and distill, helichrysum has rapidly become one of the favorites of practitioners and home herbalists alike.

The highest quality everlasting oil comes from Corsica.  This Bosnian oil is a very close substitute, and is available for a lower cost, which makes it a very worthwhile purchase.
