Foods for Building A Strong Digestive System

One of the greatest foods I know of to help rebuild healthy flora in the digestive system is fermented barley water, what many health experts call Rejuvelac.

Drinking Rejuvelac every day can help establish healthy flora and balance candida overgrowth in the digestive system.

Other naturally fermented foods can assist in establishing healthy flora, allowing the body to heal itself from ulcers, chronic heartburn, indigestion, flatulence, gas and bloating; all symptoms of a weakened digestive system.

Other foods that help build flora include fermented vegetables such as Kim Chee, and Spicy Fermented Sauerkraut.

Switching from store bought, yeasted breads (which are a main contributor toward candida overgrowth) to Naturally Leavened Bread, Chapatis, and other whole grain or sprouted grain breads, also helps to create a healthy digestive “community”.

Colon cleansing is a key element when regenerating a weakness in the digestive system.  Regular bowel cleansing can help remove enormous amounts of accumulated toxicity from the colon, helping to create an environment in which healthy flora can thrive.
