Around the third week in December, the seasonal energy flow moves into winter. This is a time when energy moves downward and inward, condensing. Trees, plants and grasses pull their life force into the roots underground, avoiding the winter cold. Bears and some other animals move into the cave or den, going into the deep sleep of hibernation to regenerate until spring. Storms bring rain and snow–all forms of water element–to regenerate the Earth for the next creative cycle.
Humans slow down their activity level, spending time inside away from the elements, and focusing on rest and regeneration. It is a time to read books, study, celebrate holidays, self-nurture, and meditate or devote oneself to a spiritual practice.
Winter is associated with the north direction of the medicine wheel, where it is time to express gratitude for the creative cycle that is ending. It is a time to express arts and crafts, hone our skills, refine our knowledge, research, practice, and honor the past.
The dropping and condensing energy flow of winter provides support for storing and regeneration. It is the best time to focus on healing processes that you may have been putting off. Winter’s water element helps us regenerate our health and vitality on every level, including physical, mental, emotional.
The winter energy flow resonates with the urinary organs, kidneys, bladder, and adrenal glands; and is energetically related to the reproductive organs, where our essential vital life force is held for procreation.
Considered the body’s energetic root, and the foundation of all yin and yang qualities in the body, the kidneys are a primary factor in restoring health from any degenerative condition. Imbalances manifest mainly as deficiency or depletion.
When kidneys are depleted, they effect us on an emotional level by generating fear, insecurity and anxiety. Healthy fear protects us from making foolish choices and actions; yet an excess of fear creates a general insecurity about life, and prevents us from experiencing joy and adventure in life.
Excessive anxiety and insecurity, in turn, damages the kidneys, creating a cycle of chronic depletion. When our urinary system and adrenal complex is out of balance, we may experience some of the following signs:
Emotionally, kidney depletion creates anxiety and depression. Counseling for these issues often create incomplete results, because the real root of the problem–the kidney adrenal complex–has not been restored. Even a moderate degree of regeneration typically produces the feeling of lifting a dark cloud of depression from one’s being.
A book that I would recommend to those on a conscious ascension path is Spiritual Nutrition by Gabriel Cousins. In this book, the author discusses the kundalini cycle, and why there are not more people experiencing a full cycle kundalini rising in the USA, despite the fact that we have been spiritually prepared to have this experience for many years now.
The masters that addressed this subject, have echoed the direct guidance I have been receiving for years: they concur that we Americans simply are underestimating the importance of what we eat, in manifesting a full kundalini awakening. The foods that make up the standard American diet are creating an energetic ceiling on our ability to raise our frequencies into full ascension.
