Planetary Ascension

I marvel at how quickly the planetary blueprint for regeneration is taking root, beginning to sprout up in the most unlikely places!  If you don’t pay attention, you might not make the connection to what is unfolding on this planet, mostly under the surface, deep in the subconscious mind of humanity, and under the ground.

When I first was called back to this beautiful red canyon country in 2004, to visit the canyons in ceremony, I had no conscious idea of what was going to unfold.  Little did I know that we (a small group of heart based individuals) would be called back to complete a series of healing ceremonies for this area–steeped in a 20 year drought, and fraught with conflict–over the next 4 years.

I also did not know that the prayers we offered in one canyon would bring back a trickle of water after 20 years of dryness, then pools, then a little stream flowing into Kanab Creek!

Few people are able to draw the connection between human consciousness and the state of the land around us.  Most believe the devastation of environment is caused by things that we have invented, or things that we have done.  Oil drilling.  Uranium mining.  Burning of fossil fuels.  Deforestation.  On and on, the list keeps on growing. And there is truth to this viewpoint.  Yet it is not the whole truth.

I choose to remember the wisdom of one of the indigenous grandmothers  who was my teacher.  She taught that no condition (personal, or planetary) can be healed from the same level of consciousness from which it was created. That means that we can not change the health of our environment (or our body) by taking a polarized action just to stop what we think is the cause.  We can not heal the atmosphere by banning the burning of fossil fuels.  Changes are necessary, but this action alone will not bring healing.

Even if we stopped ALL fossil fuel burning this very moment, scientists have calculated that it would take a full 25 years to repair the damage done to our atmosphere, if it could be repaired.  (Some do not believe it could be repaired at all).

According to my teacher, this is normal human consciousness; we bounce from one perception to its opposite.  This is a polarity, created by our human brain and ego.  Polarity is an important part of creation, but it is not the level of consciousness that can heal and create a new outcome.  Indeed, it is the source of the old saying, “history repeats itself”.  Humans bounce between acting out one side of a polarity (using fossil fuels) and the other (ceasing the use of fossil fuels).  But nothing has been done in this case to change the causal pattern of polarity itself.

The real answer, the one that brings true healing, is movement into a higher level of consciousness; the consciousness of the heart. In the heart there is no polarity.  Only unconditional love.

When we align ourselves with unconditional love, lose our judgement, and surrender our attachments to the ideals we think are right, we open up to solutions that seem miraculous–ones that we could not have seen before at the previous level of awareness.

This shift in consciousness happened for me one night in the sweat lodge, in a meeting with the grandmothers.  I was praying for the healing of Mother Earth’s waters, lands, and atmosphere.  I felt deep sadness over the abuse of her natural resources that humans had perpetrated, and I could not see any solution to our planetary dilemma.

Then one of the grandmothers gave me a gentle yet penetrating lesson I will never forget.  She told me I would never see the healing of this fossil fuel/environmental dilemma, until I changed my prayer.

Mystified, I asked her to explain.  She then asked me what I do when a person with cancer, or an “incurable”  disease comes to me for healing.  I started to share the process I use to help people progress from the idea of fighting for their life, through the healing process; building their faith in themselves, and seeing how their disease was created and their own part in it.  I shared the part about the time when the person’s consciousness shifts into the understanding that the disease itself was simply an opportunity, our body’s way to call us to make a change in our inner world.  When a person reaches that point, I know they are going to heal completely.

She told me that the fossil fuel situation was exactly the same.  To heal it, we could not just stop doing what we were doing.  That would be just like leaving a painful relationship without doing the work to heal it–we will only attract another relationship with the same underlying patterns until we open up, change our way of thinking, and heal it.

The way to create true healing was to change my prayers and visualization–to begin imagining that there is a solution outside of the “abuse and protect” polarity.  For me, that answer was synchronicity.

When I did that, a beautiful vision came in.  I saw a group of people doing a ceremony with drums and offerings.  They came together with prayers and intentions, asking permission of Mother Earth to drill an oil well in a certain location.  I started to laugh!  It was unimaginable in my mind that a group of oil well company executives could be seen to participate in a ceremony for permission for a well.

(My bad, as I would soon learn differently)!

I continued to visualize this beautiful vision, imagining that everything with this well was done in balance and with sensitivity to the animals, plants, Earth, and environment around it.  Some days the well would be shut down, just to give the Earth time without the pumping, to rest and rejuvenate.  I began to hold this vision for some time, every time I went into the lodge to pray.

Over time, I began to change the way I perceived this issue, no longer believing that it could not be healed.

Then one day, a dear friend of mine gave me a gift of which I am certain she had no idea.  She told me about a group of Native Americans who had initiated the first oil well (that I am aware of) with ceremony and connection to Mother Earth, making an agreement to drill and produce consciously, envisioning healing and life for the planet and all of her people!  The vision I had been holding had become a reality.

It truly is all about the heart, and rising above what we think is happening, to create a new version of healing for that situation.  I know now that grandmother was right, that we can heal everything from the heart’s consciousness.  We need only to chose love and faith that everything has an answer and a solution, even if we can not see it at this time.

May you find the ways of healing for yourself and our world.  And may you find the highest level of truth within your own heart…   the truth of unconditional love.
